yea, I know that, but did you see the way she hold up two of the ornament and her face? basically, the girl ornament was more closer to tong than the boy ornament. when tong choose the boy ornament she seem sad by his choice, but she knew that, that is what her son wanted so she can't force him to do what she want. So, I guess tong realized that and don't want to disappoint his family because they have been through a lot of problems. For instance, the loss of Tang, Korn drinking too much alcohol, etc. so he choose his family over mew.
