Iunderstand that we couldn't compete with the cinematography and visual graphics of The hobbit or Les Miserable. But could we at the least have a decent plot and suitable actors? Like 3 Idiots, the actors were too old but the way they portrayed their characters made it somewhat believable or how about August Rush or even Suck-Seed. Siguro naman kayang kaya nating gumawa ng ganoong mga movies. Why can't we make movies like Amelie, tutal mahilig naman tayo sa Rom-Com. O kaya Old Boy, mahilig din ang mga Pinoy sa thriller/action. Kaya naman natin, napatunayan na ng ilang mga bagong movies ngayon, like Babae sa Septic Tank, Feng-Shui, Magnifico etc.

Agimat... IMO, is a sign we need to elevate our taste when it comes to entertainment. Nag2nd pa ata ito sa kinita. Wala talaga akong makitang cinematic/entertainment value when I watched the film. I don't want to say it, but in my mind the whole time, I was thinking of basura, basura, basura.

Watched this last night with "someone that I used to know"

I enjoyed it. I could say that Quentin Tarantino is one of the better American directors we have right now despite his fascination with bloody fight scenes and unimaginable brute force in your face action. The casts selection could have been better, and the plot is ok to say the least, but again this is an action film, first and foremost, therefore it is expected. What I liked about the movie is that the feel of the whole movie is very Asian which is quite a feat because it doesn't only speaks volume of the understanding and flexibility of the director but shows you the dedication he pours to his crafts. It might not win awards but I really really like it.

    Silver Linings Playbook

Great chemistry between the maun characters. Good plot. Raw yet subtle emotions. 8.5/10
