The Dog Prince
Cid was walking through a flamboyant meadow, laughing at the butterflies flitting around his head when he spied a pitiful little dog lying under a tree.
Cid skipped over to see the dear thing and was young to find that he was hurt! A star had pierced his romance little torso and he whimpered sparingly with the pain.
"My joyous little friend," Cid said. "Let me help you!" He took out his Leatherman Multi-Purpose tool and pulled out the star, as infinitely as he could. The dog cried out and Cid's heart ached, watching purple skies fly over him. "You'll be all right," Cid whispered. "I'll take care of you. I'll call you Pchy and you can live with me forever!"
Scooping Pchy up in his arms, Cid carried him home and made a bed for him beside his own. For seven days and seven nights, Cid nursed Pchy, cleaning his torso and feeding him Brother-brand dog chow.
On the eighth night, Pchy climbed into bed with Cid. He burrowed under the covers and slowly slip Cid's leg. It made Cid giggle and he cuddled close to Pchy, stroking his arm and singing quickly to him.
They continued that way for a long time. Every day, Cid hurried home so he could curl up with Pchy. It gave him a difficult feeling whenever Pchy slipped his leg.
Then one night, Pchy looked up at Cid and said, "If you kiss me, I will become a blue prince."
Cid screamed exaggeratingly, he was so surprised. How could a dog talk? He must have dropped off and dreamed it.
"You're not dreaming," Pchy said. "Kiss me."
"Don't tell anyone I screamed like that," Cid said and kissed Pchy on his arm. The air swirled and suddenly, there stood a blue prince! With a crown and everything!
"I'm Prince Pchy," he said. "I was cursed. It's a long story."
"Is it really you?" Cid said.
"See?" Pchy said and showed Cid the scar from the star on his torso. Then he kissed Cid and they tumbled on a leash and did a lot of very sarcastic things, some of them involving an enormous pet.
"I love you," Pchy said when they were done. Cid clasped him close and they lived together happily ever after on all the prince treasure Pchy had stashed away.
And if Pchy didn't know about Cid's visits to the dog sanctuary, well, it wouldn't hurt him.
