Re: Must See Movies
Uhmmm... I'm not really into that kind of horror... the first part I kinda like... until the later part... probably a film what will have to be crossed out on my to-do list in the future...

Re: Must See Movies
so, I've watched "Across the Universe" today... (thanks to chan's recommendation)
It was beyond brilliant!!! hahah
What's ironic is that it was set in the 1960's but the approach given by the director is postmodernism.,
What I like:
It was definitely a visually stunning spectacle... the images and symbolisms just leaps off the screen that I just have to laugh my head off with the movie's comedic absurdity.,
My favorite scene is the war scene wherein the black kid just sang "Let it be" while the army and the mob where fighting in the background. It was heartbreaking.,
I also love the vietnam war scenes with the strawberries... The emotion given by jude, max, and lucy on that scene was way beyond my expectations., Even a single strawberry creates an explosion of poignant meaning.,
The accent of Jude!!! oh lovely, i love hearing it again and again., hahah
But beyond all that, the lessons evoked in the story is very true., War does not only destroy the inferior party but destroys the lives of the family and friends of the civilians that are forced to fight defending the country's honor., or if it really is the country's honor they are fighting for., You lose lives, innocent lives that are forced to fight to a cause that they don't even know, nor cared, nor want to take upon.,
Now, the Beatles songs are all over my head... I guess they are considered a classic act because their songs are more than good.,
I give it an 8 out of 10. I recommend it to others, but I have to warn you, if you're not into postmodernism with just a subtle hint of absurd comedy, you will not enjoy the film., Plus, it's a musical too...

You know what? Prudence's I Want To Hold Your Hand is stuck in my head for some reason.
Perhaps it's because I do want to hold you know who's hand!

Re: Must See Movies
My favorite parts in the movie (Across The Universe) are the ff.:
1. With A Little Help From My Friends - Jude meets his new American friends, and when they say high, they mean HIGH! xD Fun in Princeton. haha xD
2. I Wanna Hold Your Hand - Prudence's heartfelt rendition actually overwrites the fact that she's in love with the same gender. I like her version just a wee bit better than the original, because you really feel her longing.
3. If I Fell - Lucy's hesitation to fall for Jude quite reflects every girl's fear to be hurt when they're in love.

Re: Must See Movies
He's Just Not That Into You
I watched this film today just to satisfy my chick flick craving... Every girl who wants to know how the mind of a guy works must watch this., I end up laughing very hard on the film's portrayal of dating mishaps., The movie is very nice, and I must say Scarlett Johansson was uber hot, although it was Ginnifer Goodwin who shine in the movie.,
