Just Got This In The Mail!

Post by logicdecker on September 14th 2010, 6:13 pm

Managed to land my hands on the Taiwan version, finally can watch the extras with subs.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

However, the "Making of Love of Siam" doesn't have subtitles (as stated on Wikipedia) and it doesn't seem to have this part from Youtube:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFolnGKSJtI&feature=related

Anyone knows where that part comes from? The Thai version perhaps?

    Here: http://www.books.com.tw/exep/prod/dvd/dvdfile.php?item=D020025084

They only got 4 left! I guess I was lucky. But hard to order if you can't read Chinese!

But I really want the collector's edition!

Haha, basically it's the same as the Thai 3-Disc version. Discs 1/2 are the director's cut of the movie. Disc 3 contains extras, the whole writeup is in Wikipedia.

Still can't seem to find where the (check out the Youtube link in my first post) video is from though, hmmm. I think it might be from the VCD from the soundtrack. Oh, plus this one they gave a free 2009 calendar with it.

I did the conversion, it's about 1135 Pesos.

I only watched it recently for the first time. I just thought it's a nice movie and it's something that is worth it to own physically, like a copy of the DVD. It's the director's cut, 2 hours 50 min.

Get a Chinese friend to translate it for you! Or use Google Chrome/Google Translate, pretty easy to figure out!

It was one of the only sites that still has a copy. Only 4 left! Go for it!

    It's Taiwan dollars (TWD).

Try typing "851 TWD in PHP" in Google, does the conversion for you.

Yeah, I paid that amount. I think if you ship to PH should be about the same. Haha it's TWD (Taiwan Dollars/Yuan). Ships very fast, got it in 2 days via DHL.

Yup, but I wanted it for Disc 3 the extras. You can see those on YouTube but the quality isn't very good. And I just ripped the DVD so I get a better version (compared to those I downloaded) but it's 2GB! Haha. The subs aren't very good so I used those that were used in the ones you can find online.

wow. could you upload the clips for everyone to see? hahaha! i can't seem to appreciate the translation of it in youtube. XD

Disc 3 is about 2.29GB. Will try to put it up soon. Probably on Rapidshare and/or Megaupload though.

Maybe you should try Google Chrome, they have inbuilt translation.

    I used Paypal/my debit card.

Hmmm, well...I don't know Thai so I don't know which is more accurate but the subs you see floating around just seem more "human"/"personal" than the ones found on the DVD? Which is why I used those to encode my DVD instead. I think it's just personal preferences, some parts were okay though.

i don't think i've heard of a payment system having the name "bing" yet. hahaha.

but even if i have a bank account i don't think my paretns will allow me to use it for such reasons.
