    as i have learned to my thai friend these are some words i got from him:

    1. sa wa dee -is used for everytime meeting

    2. ton yen = "evening"
    >>sa wa dee ton yen means good evening

    3.sabuydee = "i'm fine"

    4."Sa buy dee mai ?" or "Pen yai pang?" = means how are you. my friend says they're not confused in using this word so i did not ask why

    5.chan rak ter = "i love you" , but was always used in the way woman says to man.

    6.pom rak kun = "i love you" the man says to a woman

    7."Tam a rai yu?" or "Tam rai yu?" = what are you doing

    8.na pern = "friend"
    >>kob kun na pern (thank you, my friend)

    9."mai pen rai" = you're welcome or never mind(we never confused . mai pen rai is a common word , expressing speaker's kindness.) that's what my friend said when i asked him if they are confused in using one word but the meaning is two. .

    10."chan tem jai" = that's my pleasure or my pleasure

    11.ja = ok

    12. na rak = cute
    >>pchy and mario na rak

    They're really similar. But yeah, they're different languages. Portuguese is a lot more nasal, closer to French.
