Reaching near the end of the story, here is chapter 13


Chapter 13. Done


Mew still feels unrest with Aex's retreat, and the need to be lead the way for Tong. It is two things happening at the same time, both are shiftings Mew's mind. Many things swirling inside Mew's head, helping Tong, how to face Aex in the future activity, the sadness of having left Aex, all are equally pressing his vurnerable heart. Good for Mew, Ying has been always the best friend who can be the mirror and someone to give warmth to his lonely house, since he insisting stay at his late grandma's house instead living with his parents. 

The next band meeting is scheduled this late afternoon, and through the day, he keeps his mind agitated with the thought of seeing Aex for the first times since the conversation. 

The next day, at the studio, Aex is behaving normally, although a hint of Aex's sadness is still visible. He doesn't show any over reaction, although they surely need time to heal the wound. Aex talks to Mew quite normal, and Mew tries to be open to him too. 

The producer has gather almost one album full, saying still needs some one or two track to complete the album, and Mew is asked to bring at least one song material to make the album contains enough tracks. The existing songs has been recorded, mixing process is on the way, soon after completion, the album will get mastering, sent for distribution.

Meanwhile, Mew is now free to go back for Tong, since Aex has encourage him to do so, his way becomes easier.

The next day, Mew make his way to the rehab center without Sunee, thinks he would like to have some privat moment and be free to talk to Tong.

"Tong..."
Mew's sweet voice tries to wake Tong. Tong awakes, smile uplon his lips to greets him back. 

"Mew, how are you?"
Tong's voice still sounds feeble, due to his weakened body. Mew still can barely belief to see Tong in his current condition, thin, pale, like someone Mew needs to watch over. 

"Mew, all this time I've been dreaming you have let me down, left me alone"

"Tong, I'm sorry to have caused you this misery"

"Mew, I got panicked as you told me you belong to someobe else"

"Don't get sad, Tong, I'm now yous completly"
Mew say these words with a kind of relieving, able to mean every words he says.

"Are you still Aex's?"

Mew shake his head

"We, Aex and me, had a talk, he... Let me go to take care of you"

"He still loves you doesn't he?"

"...He sacrifies his for your sake..."

That sentence touch Tong's heart. 

"He did that...for me? I need to thank him some day"

"It's okay, Tong"

"Mew, I' sorry to have done this,I can't afford to lose you, I took the drugs... There can see you, at least I'm not alone"

Mew have to surpress his emotion, to hear Tong's journey through the hell just for him. 

"Tong, it is different now, I'm real here, I'm with you now"

"Mew, I'm not sure how my mom would say to our love..."

Mew smile

"Aunt Sunee has talk to me about us. She now seems to understand about us, she already gives us her yes"

Tong can't be more happier, for the first time he now get the full road for Mew, knowing that nothing gonna stop them now.

"I promise, I'll get cured, I wanna be the one for you"

So many words are unspoken, but beyond all what they have said, they now can reclaim each other. 

With Mew by his side, Tong does his best to do the rehab. Slowly Tong restore his self esteem, which was damaged upon taking the drugs, making him becone the victim of his own live. Now, he is determined to be what he was once, Mew's protector. Councelling by councelling goes, restoring his self image, although the part of becoming his true image is forever marred by this dark chapter, which pose a risk of going back to the world with a feel of defectness like a broken vessel. To this, the concellour counter Tong's thought to see that this process as a way to get mature, with a long detour of the course of his life, and get back to the track with new naturity, more robust and more immune against similar type of temptation in future's crisis.

Time heals the wounds slice by slice, the slow detox process is on the way to get successful, Korn meanwhile regain his self esteem and restart his business and taking care of his family, let Sunee get her time for herself.

Several month after the things starts to get better, Tong is allowed to go home. Back at home, Tong tries to gain back his life and continue his study, and catch up his delayed semester. Tong has warned himself to be cautious with whom he now get together with. He is more selective with his friend, try as much as possible to get home, while Sunee isn't anymore too over protective with him, knowing Mew would be with him, guard him. At this time, Tong starts to spend more time at Mew's home, once in a while Mew is invited to spend overnight at Tong's home.

One thing more to do for Tong. He is determined to have a talk with Aex. He has heard Aex's sincere, unconditional love, his willingness to ket Mew go back to him is something Tong wants to appreciate.


After several doubt moments,he dial Aex's number and they set up for the meeting that day evening.

"Aex, I want to thank you for your sacrifice, I... Don't know how to say thank you properly, but this is what I need to do..."

Aex smile, and reply

"Since the first time I felt in love for Mew, I have always known that he always love you, Tong. I know he will someday go back to you, Tong"

Tong makes a slight surprised reaction

"I didn't know that, I just know it was not right to have let Mew alone too long"

"Tong, you're lucky to be loved by Mew above every thing. It is not commom this day such a love would prevail..., don't waste it, Tong"

"Thanks Aex, I have paid his love with my suffering, I will not let him go of my hands again. By the way, are we ... friends?"

Aex smile and give Tong his hand. They shake hands as sign of friendship.

Chapter 14. Done

One day, Aex come to Mew...

"Mew, I have a song material for our album, I'm not yet certain how it should be sing right now, but..."

"Show it to me Aex..."

Aex hands the sheet to him, Mew studying the material silently, several minutes passes, Mew doesn't show any responses.

"Mew....how is it?"
Aex began to get anxious.

After a while, Aex sees Mew's tears drop to the sheet.

"It's our story, Aex..."
Mew reply with his eyes become tearfull. Translated into English, it should read like this:

While I silently love you
I behold my hope to you
As you need someone else

You choose me instead
Sacrificing your own dream
For the sake of nurturing my heart
A noble act you showed me

"It's okay if you don't like it..."

"it's beautiful Aex, I'll take this song, I'll work on it..."
Reply Mew firmly staring at Aex. Aex smile upon Mew's decision to take his song material.

For several days, Mew is working Aex's song material, giving melody and give the suitable arrangement for the song. Mew knows, the hardest part of the song is not to work the song out, but to sing it. Mew's heart shivered upon this thought. 

Not long after that, Mew is then ready to present the finished song to the rest of the band and the producer. 

"This should round up our song selection for the album. The material is from Aex..."
Mew open the introduction giving clap hands to Aex, followed by others. The band cheered Aex, for Aex has rarely composed songs. Aex gets flattered.

"At first Aex hasn't give the title to the song, so I name it: (translated into English) For You

Another cheer comes from the band.

"Now I'll sing this song for you"

He starts to play the keyboard. Mew sounded soft at the first verse, going to the second verse, his eyes gets reddish, with the voice a bit shaking. In the chorus as he sings: " Those beautifull memories together", every one hears Mew's struggle to keep his voice and his emotion intact. But as Mew reach at the end of the bridge part, he can't hold himself, he starts to cry. Mew is forced to stop at the final chorus, sobbing at the keyboard. There are no dry eyes in all of them. They remain silent. The song is such a deep impact, even the producer can't say anything, overwhelmed by the song.

It takes them few moments, and the producer finally reply:

"It will be our biggest.... Hit... It's j..ust perfect for the album. I'll put it as first single."

No one has doubt about it, not in every session they come up with such a bittersweet song, especially since they know exactly what the song is about. They also get the news that Mew is back with Tong. How brave Aex to keep calm and still in same band with now his ex. But amazingly, it doesn't hurt Aex all too much, because he knows that Mew goes back to his Tong.

Mew's prediction become true. In his take, he doesn't reach beyond the bridge, leaving the rest of the track filled with cry and shaken voice. This time, the producer can't ask for more emotion, since he is serverd with it abundently, almost overflowing all over the board. Many attemps, paused, even to Aex encouragement just makes Mew become sadder. At that evening, every body was moved by Mew's struggle, share the cry together. The producer is about to give in 1 more day, for the wrap up the album is due that day. The producer this time completely understand what happened.

"Mew, let's try tomorrow, I completely understand the situation. Tomorrow will be better I'm sure"
Aod breaks in

Mew replies

"I will try once more, I promise to hold myself this time"
Mew insist

The producer seems to doubt, but still gives in

"Ok, then, let's try. From verse 3 take 15..."

All who sits at the final wrap up is dead sure, this song will be a big hit. Luck for them, Mew is managed to keep his emotion and at the same time giving the right amount of emotion. At this attempt, Mew is picturing Aex in his fever with his bright eyes, his unconditional love, his protection, his cheerfulness, his final gift... The freedom to go back to his other half, Tong. Mew manages to fill the track with the perfect dosis of soul, to let the song take flight, to touch every soul, who believes in love, and finally Mew has reached the end of the track with his very soft voice, beautifull and deep.

Everybody cheers for the completion, the producer can't be happier with the result. Meanwhile Mew is still  in the voice room, let his emotion go this time, get caught so deep in the song. It is the  first time the band see Mew breaks down like this, they approach Mew, while Aex hug him and say

"It's all right Mew, you have sung beautiful. It's all right"

Mew keeps hugging Aex so tight, feel sorry to have left Aex, such a pure love, unconditionally for him.

"I'm sorry Aex, I'm sorry..."
Those words keep comimg from Mew's mouth, inbetween his sobbing.

"It's allright Mew, it was beautifull"
Aex reply to Mew still hugging Mew. They feel strange to see Mew in his emotion. It was their first time to see Mew outside himself

It was 2:40 am the next day as they get the recording done, and the next days the other jobs are under the tracks. Promotions, cover photos, lyrics edting, cover album layout.

The band gets the call from studio for the album introduction. They are presented with the ready cd's to be distributed to the radios, stores, etc. They are also discussing the promotion's schedule, booking for performing and many things more. Aod, the producer are wearing the happiest smile for the tought of the first single: "For You", would become a huge succes.

Within 3 weeks the song skyrocketed to the first position in he chart, hold long, the album become huge succes, live performances booked for several weeks to come with tight schedules.

The album become a huge succes, with the single "For You" remains at 1st place for many weeks. The only obstacle is for Mew to sing this song live, since the song charts number one for over several weeks since the release.

It was a tight battle for Mew to sing this song for the first time publicly, his thought wanders through Aex and Tong. Tong is present in the first live performance and Mew is a bit uncomfortable to sing the song for Aex while he is now with Tong.

At the artist room Aex asks Mew

"Mew, are you sure you can sing that song? We'll back it up for you"

"Don't worry Aex, I'll stand strong for you, for this song. It's our song afterall"

"Mew, thank you for taking my song"

"Aex, I'll give my best for this single"

They hug each other, then Aex go forth with the preparation. Not long after, Tong is allowed to gain entrance pass to see Mew.

"Tong, this one song is for Aex, I hope you understand"
Mew looks into Tong's Eye.

"It's allright, Mew, I din't have any hard feeling towards him. The talks was good, I hope we can be friends some day, he's a good guy, he deserve something from you too after all..."

The MC then announce the arrival of August band to the stage accompanied by huge cheering and handclaps. The croud immidiately yelling the song "For You". Lucky for Mew, the song is put on the last of planned concert.

Through the first half, the band is playing the existing songs from precious album. Much to their joy, almost all audience are singing along together. Through the second part, Mew's heart become unrest with the upcoming single to be performed. At the end of the concert, the promised single is about to be sung for the first time in public. Mew become agitated, it feels almost like cold shower for Mew to sing this very personal song. 

"Thank you all for your love to us, August Band. I would like to give a gratitiude for you with our last single..."

The hall become enveloped by screams, peoples jumping, especially the girls. This set Mew only to be more nervous

"I will sing this song for someone special..."
Mew for a brief second takes a look into Aex's eye, seeing Aex sincere smile back to him

More shouting and screaming are heard...

As the hall gets quiet, it become creepingly too quiet for Mew to start. 

He starts after he short beautiful intro, as the first words coming out from Mew, every eye is fixed towards Mew, makes him only more agitated. Through the second verse, he gains more confident, as Mew hit the chorus, every people starts to sing along, become so loud, almost covering Mew's voice. Mew struggle to keep his emotion in the painfully beautiful bride, causing more scream in the croud. Good for Mew, he's now able to control himself, reaching the end without emotional breakdown as the band initially feared. The song closed the concert, Mew still standing, holding microphone stand covering his face. He weeps. The cheerrs and shouting still very loud, makes the band singing several extra songs. Lucky for Mew who gains back his emotion. Time after time, Mew is getting able to sing it without overflow of emotion, for he has sing it meny times. His relationship with Aex remains as best friend as before
